The Clients recently bought this Airey house under the Right to Buy scheme as they had built up a large discount from being a long term tenant of their Local Authority.
They bought the Airey house with a mortgage from the Halifax, the Halifax first advanced the right to buy price so that the house could be purchased from the Local Authority. Now that the Clients owned the Airey house the building repair works could start. The Halifax had a retention on the funds for the repair works until the PRC certificate was issued.
New doors and windows were fitted along with french doors at the back leading to the garden. When the PRC repairs were completed the PRC certificate was issued and sent to the Halifax. The Halifax arranged for an inspection to be carried out by the Valuer, the retention funds were then released to pay for the PRC repair.
